Good English Essential For Job Seekers

A good command of the English language has now become a common pre-requisite of most employers, commented an employment services company, Manpower Staffing Services (M) Sdn Bhd. In a statement released by their general manager, Ms Liza Hussain recently, they said that almost all employers registered with them has requested that their candidates have a good command of English, irrespective of specialist skills, technical competence or other requirements.

As English has long been recognised as the international language of business, it is only natural that it becomes the common language of communication too. This would logically lead to good communication skill, which is gauged to be the second most desired candidate attribute.

In a recent analysis conducted by Manpower, it was found that employers were looking for candidates who were articulate and could express themselves well, whether in English or some other Asian language.
