The New Wage System

The Ministry of Human Resources Datuk Fong Chan Onn has said that many industries such as the manufacturing industry has refused to implement the ?Performance Linked Wage System? a system whereby salary increments are based on staffs? performance. Currently, salary increments are still based on seniority.

So far, only the electronics and automobile industry has complied with the ?Performance Linked Wage System?. This has affected the country?s performance and productivity.

To solve this problem, the government hopes to implement a new system where wages will be based both on performance and seniority.
