Many local and overseas colleges and universities recognise the completion of ELS Language Centres’ Certi fied Intensive English Programme at Levels 106-109, as one of the English Language admission requirements for foundation, diploma or degree courses.
More than 600 colleges, universities and career schools in the US accept the completion of an advanced level in the ELS Language Centres’ Certi fied Intensive English Programme in lieu of the TOEFL for admission.
Course Outline
Our centres offer a choice of English courses designed to meet specific needs. We take pride in our flexibility in organising personal activities around our programmes to make learning a fun academic experience. To ensure that each lesson is customized to your needs, almost all of our programmes require you to take a placement test that determines your English proficiency level. This would allow you to be among peers of similar levels to effectively learn the English language together at a greater pace.
College Or University Preparation
Students are prepared to meet the English language requirements for college or university through these programmes:
- Certi fied Intensive English Programme
The Certi fied Intensive English Programme allows students to significantly improve their English skills in the shortest time possible and to fully prepare themselves for university study. The Certi fied Intensive English Programme is ideal for university-bound students, professionals with a limited time for study, and students who want to learn English quickly.
- TOEFL/ IELTS/ MUET Test Preparation
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) are the most recognised tests of English language pro ficiency for entrance into overseas universities. The Malaysian Universities English Test (MUET) Preparation Course combines modern technology with tested and proven methodology to help students meet the English language admission requirement. We offer full- and part-time preparation courses for each of these tests with the objective of helping students to obtain high scores.
School Enrichment
School Enrichment Programmes for English are conducted at selected ELS Language Centres.
- Secondary School Programme
Students in Forms 1-3 wanting to improve their overall language skills will find this course helpful. It is designed to activate the receptive (listening and reading) abilities as well as the productive skills of speaking and writing.
- Primary School Programme
Children between the ages of 7 and 12 will bene fit from this programme. It is designed specially to meet the demands of young children and incorporate loads of fun with lots of English!
Workplace English
Flexible programmes developed for working adults to give them the competitive edge in the borderless world.
- Communicative English Programme
This programme is speci fically designed for busy professionals who see that communication is a vital factor in their workplace. The Communicative English Programme will enable you to improve your communication skills and function more ef ficiently at work among your colleagues, managers, and staff.
- Business Communication
This programme is especially for the business men and women who require strong speaking and writing skills for business success. The Business Communication Progamme will equip you with the necessary skills to communicate effectively in your business environment. It willaddress a wide range of communication skills
including persuasion, negotiation and social conversations in both formal and informal business settings. In terms of writing, this programme will also train you on persuasive writing and other business correspondence writing such as memos, emails, reports and a variety of business letters.
- Company Contract Training
This is tailor-made to suit special needs. Among the advantages of company contract training are its fl exibility, location, field of work and size of group.
