Special Test For Foreign Workers

The Ministry of Human Resources will be introducing an induction course for foreign workers arriving for employment in Malaysia from Nov 1 onwards. They will obtain the basic knowledge about the country which includes what the average Malaysian looks like as well as the Malaysian currency.

The course will be conducted in the foreign workers? respective countries and only upon obtaining a certificate of eligibility from this course would a foreign worker be able to secure an employment visa from Malaysia.

The course which also provides the foreign workers with the understanding of the country?s employment regulations, local customs, culture and social norms will aid in preventing social misconducts, like cases of eating neighbours? pets.

The course will have three modules ? the language module which would either be in Bahasa Malaysia or English and the second and third module will be on culture and laws. Questions here will be in the workers? own national language.

The course?s syllabus and modules are developed by the National Vocational Training Council and will only be conducted by the training centres that have been identified by governments of the source countries.

Those who have been employed for less than 1 year in Malaysia will have to undergo lectures instead. These will be organised by the employers.
